12R4 Clean Cab Radio

OVERVIEW

The 12R4 Radio is the most recent and technologically advanced addition to the 12R series of locomotive radios. The 12R4 is a Tri-Mode Analog/Digital radio that is fully compliant with FCC-mandated narrowband operation. Both conventional 25 kHz and 12.5 kHz analog bandwidths, as well as the 6.25 kHz ultra-narrow (digital) bandwidth, are supported by simple channel configuration in software.

Additional Features

  • Tested and compliant with the following environmental specifications:
    • S-9401.V.1.0 – Shock, Vibration, Humidity and Temperature
    • EN 50155:2017
    • EN 61373:2010
  • Licensed VHD Digital Transceiver
    • US FCC (Identifier 2BFKO-QR12R4-A1)
    • Industry Canada (ISED 32251-QR12R4A1)
  • Robust 74V/13V DC to DC converter.
  • Standard AAR Form/Fit/Function for easy upgrade of existing locomotive radios.
  • Supports applications requiring single or dual Remote Head operation.
  • All radios are shipped configured to customer specifications and ready to use out of the box.

New FEATURES

  • Machined front panel milled from ½” 6061 aluminum barstock. This replaces the molded plastic faceplate used on the 12R3D and 12RII radios.
  • Push-to-Talk button has been upgraded to an all-metal pushbutton to increase the lifespan of this heavily used component.
  • Configuration is done via Web GUI removing the requirement to install a setup program as required by the 12RII and 12R3D.
  • Display has been upgraded to fully programable dual OLED graphical displays.
  • Direct drop-in replacement for the 12R3D and 12RII radios.
